The idea

My name is Alex Ninan, I received my black belt in 2017 and I have almost 15 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

I grew up in SC playing all of the typical American sports, basketball being my favorite. As I matured and my 5'11 frame (and poor attitude) closed the door on my NBA dreams, I found the Brazilian sport that would change my life.
Since starting at 18 years old, I've competed in countless tournaments across the country, from the IBJJF World Championships to the local Newbreed tournament down the street. I've coached at even more!
Something that becomes glaringly obvious to anyone in the competition scene for long, is how greed-driven the current model is and how little they actually care for the competitor.
I have a passion for teaching and I find it especially rewarding to see the benefits Jiu-Jitsu has added to so many kids lives. It pains me to see a kid burn out and waste their potential. Even worse, when they fail to see the potential Jiu-Jitsu has to make a lasting impact on their lives.
Not only is Jiu-Jitsu a powerful tool for personal growth and self defense, but now competitors are winning $1,000,000 tournament prizes! Given the exponentially growing audience in need of instruction, and the implications of the art in the MMA world, Jiu-Jitsu is certainly becoming a viable career path.
I want to do my part in giving kids a reason to come back to the sport. Year after year, season after season. Like I did with basketball growing up. I also want to take away the hassle from parents who just want to provide their kids with the opportunity to compete in a sport they love.
This is my reason for starting the league.

Charles

I was floored when Alex told me this idea. It sounds like a lot of fun and it makes so much sense. How has this not been done before?

Andrew

I think your idea is bigger than you realize. I think this kids team idea solves a lot of the problems with the current competition model.
